Let’s consider some facts. Recent census data shows that the demographic landscape of America is shifting. The Black and Latino populations are growing steadily, and projections suggest they may no longer hold "minority" status in the near future. Meanwhile, the white population, historically the majority, is declining. This change isn’t just a projection; it’s happening now, and one major factor contributing to this decline is abortion.
To counteract this trend, there has been a concerted effort to outlaw abortion. Often, the narrative is pushed that Black women are the majority of those seeking abortions, but the reality is quite different. Today, more white women are getting abortions than ever before in America’s history. It’s a truth that’s often overshadowed by rhetoric designed to deflect or misinform.
Taking Action vs. Talking About It
Here’s something to think about: the white community—especially those in white supremacist circles—sees the problem, and they act on it. They don’t just talk about the issues; they take steps to implement solutions. Whether or not we agree with their methods, the fact remains—they "be about it." They’re willing to get their hands dirty to preserve their vision for the future, no matter how controversial or unethical their actions may be.
Contrast this with what often happens in Black and Latino communities. Far too frequently, we fall into cycles of identifying problems but fail to take actionable steps to solve them. When someone within these communities does present a viable solution, they’re often met with resistance. Instead of support, they’re ignored, belittled, or seen as a threat to the status quo.
A Lifetime of Solutions, A Lifetime of Resistance
I’m 53, soon to be 54, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve worked tirelessly to come up with practical solutions for the issues that matter most. These aren’t theories or guesses—they’re based on what truly works. Yet, time and time again, my efforts have been met with criticism and hostility, often from my own community. Instead of building bridges, I’ve been flagged, demeaned, and treated like an outsider.
What’s even more disheartening is that many continue to rely on the very systems and individuals who perpetuate their struggles. It’s a painful cycle to witness, and even in our modern world, virtual chains are just as binding as physical ones.
The Solution We Need
I do have a solution—one that values all communities equally. It challenges existing power dynamics and offers a path to true growth and progress for everyone. But here’s the catch: it doesn’t fit the prevailing narrative. And because it doesn’t, it’s often dismissed or overlooked.
If we truly want to move forward, we need to shift our focus. It’s time to stop just talking about the problems and start implementing real, actionable solutions. That requires courage, unity, and a willingness to embrace ideas that benefit all, not just a select few.
Moving Forward
America is at a crossroads. The demographic shifts are real, and they’re happening faster than many realize. The question is: how will we respond? Will we continue to circle the wagons, pointing fingers and identifying problems without solutions? Or will we take a stand, work together, and create a future that values every community?
The time for action is now. Let’s stop just talking—and start doing.
